God creates this world, but He does not create every detail of this world. He just gives an initial push and because of His energy everything goes on automatically. A good manager is not doing everything himself, he just pushes it and everything goes on automatically. Krisna is the best manager, He just desires, and everything goes on.

Usually people don’t remember about God, but when something bad comes they immediately remember Hare Krisna. Therefore Caitanya Mahaprabhu appeared in an inauspicious moment, and He turned it into auspicious because everyone was chanting Hare Krisna. In the same way He is turning the very inauspicious time of Kali-yuga, which we live in, into a very good time because He induces everyone to chant Hare Krisna.

Lord Krisna says that the purpose of the Vedas is to know Him, and Caitanya Mahaprabhu as a teacher taught the same. When we chant we don’t experience the real Holy name, suddha-nam, we experience the shadow of the Holy name, nama-abhas. The real purpose of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was not only to give the Holy name to the citizens of Navadvip, but to give the Holy name and krisna-prema to the whole world. There are two main purposes why Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu came into this world: an internal and an external purpose. The main purpose is internal – to experience the love of Srimati Radharani, which She feels when She meets Krisna, or when She is in separation with Him. His external purpose is to give harinam sankirtan and raganuga bhakti to the whole world.

The external purpose is only possible, when the internal purpose is fulfilled, you can only give something which you have. Sometimes devotees of ISKCON are very eager to spread Krisna consciousness, but we only can spread Krisna consciousness when we have Krisna consciousness ourselves. Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu wants to give us love of God and it depends on us whether we want to take it or not. To get love of God we have to meditate on Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu, and it depends on the quality of our meditation. If we serve Him, because service is the most intense way of meditating on somebody, then the feelings which He has will come to our heart. If we want to be happy we should chant the Holy name and give the Holy name to others.
