We are programmed to exploit the world by our senses, and this program is very deep. We think that to know something means to feel it with our senses, but this way of dealing with the matter is called exploitation. Therefore we need guru, and guru is the one who is capable of seeing the Lord with his internal vision, not by exploitation. If guru is not 100% absorbed in the spiritual reality, he is not a real guru. To get to the same state of samadhi we have to see somebody who is totally absorbed. And Jayapataka Maharaj is the one who has this absolute dedication and absolute absorption. To get to this internal state of being we should be absorbed in the mission of Lord Caitanya.

The ability of Jayapataka Maharaj to do things in this material world is not out of this world, it’s definitely not human. The secret is that he is absorbed in the lilas of Lord Caitanya. Lord Caitanya showed by His example what does it mean to be absorbed in the lilas of Lord Krisna. By meditating on the pastimes of Lord Caitanya we will be able to achieve complete absorption in the pastimes of Lord Krisna.

By the process of empowerment through guru parampara we should be able to become absorbed in the pastimes of Lord Caitanya. Srila Prabhupada was absorbed in the pastimes of Lord Caitanya, and the same absorption he invested in the hearts of his disciples.

To be the follower of Jayapataka Maharaj means to try to have the same internal absorption. This is the way to become empowered and to achieve love of God.
