Sankhya philosophy is very necessary for us to properly deal with the energy of the Lord. We can understand the Lord Himself only if we are properly dealing with His energy. He is not available to our senses, but His energy is manifested to our senses, and if we deal with it appropriately, our consciousness will be purified.
Theory of causality, there are two types of philosophies: 1) asat-karya-vada: the effect is not preexisting in the cause; 2) sat-karya-vada: the effect exists in the cause: a) vivarta-vada or the philosophy of mayavadis; b) parinama-vada of atheistic sankhya.
When the Lord glances over the material nature, then different events start taking place, when He withdraws His glance it becomes non-manifested. When the Lord glances, His glance takes the form of Lord Siva, because He is never in contact with material energy. The glance injects the seeds of the living entities with their karma into the womb of Maya. When material nature is not manifested the three modes of material nature are in complete balance, and the glance of the Lord disturbs it. The glance of the Lord is also called eternal time or kala-purusa.
Our mind consists of three gunas as much as our body consists of three dosas. Kala makes different gunas prominent in different times, and we have to harmoniously align ourselves with the time. Kala also puts the limit to everything.
There are two divisions of Maya with four constituencies: 1) upadana-karana: dravyam, ksetra, prana, atma; 2) nimitta-karana: kala, daiva, karma, svabhava.
When prakriti is under the influence of sattva it creates mahat-tattva, in our consciousness it is called citta. Citta has tree qualities: purity, changelessness and peacefulness. If we overcome the influence of the false ego by chanting maha-mantra, we will achieve this pure state of consciousness, and the reflection of the Lord automatically comes unto it. When our consciousness is purified we become very happy.
We see everything around us through the media of antahkarana, or the internal sense, and because our internal organ is contaminated, we don’t see the external world as it is. Therefore the first and foremost duty of the living entity who wants success in life is to purify consciousness by chanting Hare Krisna mantra.
